The Mitz-Khan-A-Khan Chapter is very active in the Ventura County community. We support our California Veteran Home in Ventura, "For the Troops" support, ROTC, Jr. ROTC, SeaBees, Tamassee Schools, local Ventura County Schools with history essay scholarships, recognizing historical landmarks, historical grave indexing, and so much more!
Our Chapter membership is currently about 110 members strong!
One of the three Historical Markers that our MKAK Chapter has placed on Ventura County Landmarks - dedication below.
The Mitz-Khan-A-Khan Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) unveiled a 24" x 24" bronze marker of California Historical Landmark No. 310 that was placed on the front of Mission San Buenaventura on March 31, 2018. Present were the Mitz-Khan-A-Khan Chapter, NSDAR, along with other statewide California DAR chapter members and Father Tom Elewaut, Pastor, at San Buenaventura Mission.
The Mitz-Khan-A-Khan Chapter, NSDAR, is located in Ventura, California, and was organized on February 20, 1931. Our name, Mitz-Khan-A-Khan, is named for the Chumash Native American village of the Mitsquanaqa'n, where the Mission San Buenaventura was founded.
Chapter Motto: Let us merit the pride of our forefathers as they merited our pride in them.
